Supes Race

Is the race for Supervisor heating up, or just blowing smoke!?! Where there's fire, there's Fahrenheit 451*. Instead of burning books, however let's hope that Novatans will be buying--and reading them--with news that Lalanne Group is negotiating to bring Book Passage to the old decrepit train station next to where the Whole Foods store will be. Lots of traffic, lots of lattes, chickens, moisturizers, pound for pound, livre for libre. . .what will become of SMART in all this?
It is a farrago, a veritable pig's stew--and how sustainable is it without some plan to put the cars away, somewhere far. More than just into a new parking garage.

You may aver, here's what the Marin Bike Coalition had to say about politics in the County in General--

"Despite Marin's wealth, high levels of education and sophistication, rarely are the actions of Marin local government held up as national examples of high achievement. . . .**"

The latest controversy about who said what, when and where about Whole Foods--
see "Supervisor's race heats up: Arnold, Eklund trade accusations" in the IJ is so, so, so dumb. . . just look at the comic strip called Grant Avenue, and tell me if we're not in "Doonesbury," by way of Main Street.***

The latest poll results at the Novato Advance website--
Who would you favor in the June primary election for Marin County Supervisor?
Barry Buckley
(16 Votes, 4%)
Pat Eklund
(234 Votes, 60%)
Judy Arnold
(138 Votes, 36%)

*I mean he got mad at Roger Moore for coopting the title of his most famous novel, but please forgive Ray Bradbury. Now what if Godard had made the movie instead of
Truffaut? What if Copperfield's instead of Book Passage?

***I mean Upton Sinclair's version, although I would take "Our Town," (by Thornton Wilder), slice it, dice it, thrown it a blender with Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Book Passage, and then drink it on the patio at Moylan's
.
